I'm confident that OOo will be able to provide you with all that you
require (based on what you've advised).

OOo can produce documents (using 'save as') in a format that is
readable by MS office users therefore compatibility is there as well.
You may notice some small issues when converting documents, but
nothing too major, and its always improving.
