Hi Rick,
I'm not sure if you can do that, but if the intent is to check to see if
there is any text that's not black, then set the search for black text
(or automatic if that's what you mean by black), check 'regular
expressions' and type a period in the find box, and in the replace box
enter a character that's not in your text. After that replace operation,
replace that character with nothing. If there's anything left, you
didn't have pure black. You can undo twice to get back to where you
were, then track down the offending coloured text.

p.s. A macro may be a much slicker way of doing the job.
