Yes, that is true. Whatever "they" do, is never as powerful as what we (as individuals) do with their products or how we bend, refine or extend their products to our will or needs. The challenge is for us to change the direction of our focus from complaining, debating, etc. -- into doing. On the technology side, it is more challenging and difficult as the tools now are mathematics and programming sciences as opposed to wrenches and levers familiar in a car garage repair shop; but the principles remain the same.
