I've never used macros and cannot find the explanation in the help: how do I create a macro with the code provided hereunder?

See if http://documentation.openoffice.org/faqs/word_processing/050.html helps.

I cannot follow the instructions in that FAQ, which appears to be missing some steps. For example, it says to "use Tools > Organize > New" but I cannot find this from the OOo Writer menu bar.

Also, the first sentence of the FAQ says "You need to insert a time/date field that indicates the time when the doc last has been modified" but this macro does not look to me to have anything to do with a time/date field.

Could someone please review this FAQ and correct it, or make it more clear? Or tell me what I'm missing here?

Fixed. Could catch on the extraneous paragraph and the missing command.
Too much haste == less speed.

Thank you for the fast response. A few more things:
(1) The instructions now say "Use Tools > Macros > Organize Dialogs > New" but on my setup "New" is not a choice there. I assume it should be "OpenOffice.org Basic" because that takes me to a dialog (titled "OpenOffice.org Basic Macros" where I can select the document and the Standard module.

(2) However, even when I typed in the Macro name, the Edit button was not activated. So I tried "New" which popped up a little "New Module" box. I kept the default choice (Module 1), clicked OK, and got a window in which I could enter the macro.

(3) Newbies will not have a clue was "IDE" means in the instruction "...enter the following in the IDE."

(4) The last two steps are "Click the Run icon" and "Finally save the document". If I'm in the right place, is this the icon named "Run BASIC" in the tooltip? Also, it's not clear whether I should just close this window or save the macro first, or what, before saving the document.

More clarification would help. I really am clueless about macros. I guess it's about time I learned something about them!

Thanks.
