If he is going to print it, then export your paper to PDF. You find that function in the File menu.

Your University probably has a state-of-the-art file sharing (also called networked storage) system which you may use to avoid the trouble of attachments. It should appear as a hard drive or networked drive on your computer and you'll be able to save in a specific folder for your professor. However, only your local IT dept can answer the details on that.
