Yes, After I posted my message I found a second thread that contained those
answers.

Wow! All that spam! Wading through it I did find some postings that give me
reason to think a second time. I just wish I had not spent the money for 10.1
but better to leave the money "wasted" than to try to make use of the DVD and
find that I have trash. I bought it because the download version is incomplete.
They say it is because a dual layer DVD is needed to hold everything. Have they
not heard that DVDs are cheap and that a two DVD download would solve that
problem? Sorry about the off topic rant.

"home OOo directory" Do you mean .ooo-2.0-pre or is there some other directory
that you mean?

As for /openoffice.org2.0/share/... I have no directory at the root level named
openoffice.org2.0 though I do find a subdirectory with that name under /opt
I suppose that means that I already have a corrupted version. I think that I
did try to install 2.0.2 some time back and since it did not appear to "take" I
assumed that I had made a mistake in installing it and gave up. Now that I see
this thread I know better what is going on. Ugh!

I've done no customization that required any significant technical knowledge.
As for dictionaries, I've done nothing.

[OT] I suppose the problems I've been having with Wine also result from SuSE
doing something non-standard. Around the start of the year there was a security
flap regarding WMF. SuSE "fixed" it for Wine by supplying a year old version
which they still insist on pushing down my throat even though I downloaded the
official fix for the problem from Winehq.org some six months ago. [/OT]
