Did you use the Wizard to download the word list?
(Bestand|Assistenten|Nieuwe woordenlijst installeren)
If so, you should be able to see nl_NL.dic in
.. Program Files\OpenOffice.org 2.0\share\dict\ooo
Also: in a document the language is a property of the paragraph style.
If you open the Stylist (F11), select paragraph styles (icon top left)
select Default (Standaard), you can right-click on it. Choose Edit
(Bewerken).
On the tab Font you can see the Language and can select Dutch.
If there is a small ABC-V symbol in front of the language name, spell
check is available.
You might want to see the Help for working with styles.

I tried every thing i tried so
much i have to reinstall my open office, i did this now and now i ask
for your help. I realy dont understand i did it like the help files
tell me to but still it wont work i ca nwrite down a bad word and
spelling controle don't mind it being wrong. hoping for an answer i
