Lets keep it real.  Symantec  Norton and mcafee are better but it is a very
good free version.  The free and pay for antivirus software are in two
different categories. Try getting the newest version of all of the software
and reinstalling them.  Start with the av.  Mcafee is a resource hog.  Just
like firefox open office does take a little bit to start up

Problems with AVG????

Been using AVG on laptop and desktops for years
Win 98, XP home, and Pro

Never had the problem(s) you are having is very strange.

I have been using Open Office since the earlist version
and have no problem with AVG or Open Office.

Just for the record
I have been told by the "experts"
that AVG is better at finding virus and other problems
then McAfee or Nortins, and its free as well.
