Lets keep it real. Symantec Norton and mcafee are better but it is a very good free version. The free and pay for antivirus software are in two different categories. Try getting the newest version of all of the software and reinstalling them. Start with the av. Mcafee is a resource hog. Just like firefox open office does take a little bit to start up
