Strange, I can see it on screen too.

Yes, but as I understand it, you have to create the background graphic exactly 
as you wish to see it as a watermark. When I needed one, I used OOo Draw to 
get the text in place, exported as a png, and then used the Gimp to fade it 
to get the graphic I actually needed. There may be better ways, in which 
case, I would like to know.
