Bonjour,
After waiting about 240 mins. my OpenOffice open, I have disabled the
java. Then I exit OpenOffice and restart it and I have waited the
same time before it opens again (~240 mins.)!!!!
My Solaris box have "Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition
(build 1.5.0_01-b08)" installed on /usr/java (standard place)...
Did someone else have a Solaris installation of OpenOffice working good???

when oo.org has started, go to tools->options->openoffice.org->java.
disable java usage.
if this helps, you can try manually setting it to use a particular java
version
