     I found the same problem earlier. What happens is that it shows 
"0 words" until you enter a character. (This could be a space.) Then 
it will show the data you need. It will continue to automatically 
update this information for as long as you have this file open. But 
to start it to work on the entire document, you must make a change in 
the document first.
