As a matter of fact I am very happy.  Of course I use a multi-taking operating 
system.. oh most likely you do to..  the simple question is.. why do you shut 
it down, start it and just minimize it.  If the memory is needed by another 
program it will be simply swaped out.. then when its needed it is swapped in 
(fast).  The only time OO gets shut down here is when there is a upgrade..   
Of course linux is also not a crash-a-matic operating system.. so I don't 
need to restart it. 

BTW my machine is.. 1.8mhz athalon, with 512 meg of ram.  The same machine I 
have been using for the last 4 years.  ubuntu 6.06.. 
BTW havn't had a windows box for 5 years..  and never will..   When I read the 
EULA that came with win 2000 sp4 I stopped didn't install sp4 stayed with sp3 
for about 2 years while I found an alterantive operating system..   BTW
