//I am using version 2.0.4 of OpenOffice.org. My problem is :
When a text document (*.doc) residing on a USB Flash Drive is opened and edited with the OO Writer, the file is then saved and the OO Writer is closed, the safe removal of the USB Drive is disabled (a message pop up telling me it's unsafe at this time). Now, the way to overcome this problem is to shut down the "Quickstarter" by right-clicking and selecting the "Exit Quickstarter" menu. After doing this, the problem with USB Flash Drive disappears. If I may guess, I think the OO still holds on the the file handle (marked in use) even after the OO Writer is closed(!) and thus the USB Drive cannot be safely removed. Killing the Quickstarter releases all file handles and everything works fine again.

Since the OO Quickstarter is for use with other OO applications as well I cannot imagine that this behavior is by-design. I consider this a bug.

Please advise.

Thanks for your help and a super software product,
Piotr Adamski
