Perhaps we should alter the format of the list.
People who don't like email can use OOoForums.
People who like neither mailing lists, nor web forums can use the
gmane news server.

As somebody who receives 2000 messages on a very slow day, I'd much
rather subscribe to a mailing list, than keep checking a web forum or
news group for an answer to my questions.

It's not a question of "not liking e-mail". It's a question of not liking
hundreds of messages per day.

What I said was that we should consider changing to a format where (a) people
can post without having to subscribe *and* (b) *those* people *only* get
messages relating to the thread(s) they started. This way they don't get
hundreds of messages *and* they don't have to keep checking a forum.

My heart bleeds. They get the software for nothing, perhaps make a donation. Then it's too much trouble for the poor things to subscribe to a list or a forum in order to seek help.

And, evidently, too much trouble to read the instructions linked to the downloads page. Too difficult to filter their emails. Oh, the pain.

I can't handle the trauma of contemplating their fate. Fortunately, I am spared the agony of reading their emails. Anything to or from the moderator goes straight to my "Deleted" folder. That's how I cope.
