I haven't had the same thing happen with any other tables, so far my best guess is that it's related to reflowing a table with no text in the first column, just graphics. I'm going to see if an excerpt shows the problem and post that.

Interesting about the graphics. My problem example was a 3 column table with a picture (only) in the middle column. Probably irrelevant, but...
