Judi No there is no email client or appointment calendar included with or hidden within OOo (OpenOffice.org). There are already several good, free email and calendering programs available. One that is frequently suggested on this list as a replacement for MS Outlook is Mozilla Thunderbird with the "Lightening" calendar extension. While Thunderbird doesn't have all the business bloat features of Outlook, it has equivalent options for personal use. Take a look at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/thunderbird Hope this helps.
