It is likely that the error is being cause by your Antivirus (AV) software believing that the downloaded file is corrupt/virused. You could do one of three things: 1. Turn off your AV software while you download and install the software; don't forget to turn it on again. 2. Order the software on CD from the OO web site; you'll probably have to pay about USD 10 just for the cost of the CD plus P&P. 3. Look at the computer magazines in your local newsagent. These often come with CDs/DVDs which often have OpenOffice on them. Make sure you buy a Windows magazine if you are using Windows (which, from the symtoms you describe, I assume you are).
