  GRAMPS geneology database

I want to edit it with OpenOffice dynamically and there is no information
anywhere that I have found relating to the subject. I have mailed the GRAMPS
list to get further info

  *.grdb
  *.xml
  *.gedcom

In 'connect to existing database' none of the options seem to connect to any
of these formats.

Extension needed? Surely OpenOffice can connect to an XML database?? ODB is
XML.

  Thanks guys
  Dave

.grdb is presumably a GRAMPS custom database. It may be that like Legacy it
is an Access database to which the have simply changed the extension (as Legacy
does). With the Legacy .fdb file It can be opened in OOo by simply changing the
extension to .mdb and importing as an Access file. Might be worth a try.

A Gedcom (.ged) is a file which is only used for transferring data between
specially designed genealogical programs. It is a simple text file and can be
opened in Notepad and Wordpad. If you really want to then open it in OOo you
can save it as .txt.
