Thanks for the suggestion. unfortunately not though. I
expect the 
database file is just another format renamed, but
shall have to wait for 
that information.

More surprising is that OOo Base can't connect to an
XML database? 
Never.. ..?

may be that like Legacy it is an Access database to
which the have simply changed the extension (as Legacy
does). With the Legacy .fdb file It can be opened in
OOo by simply changing the extension to .mdb and
importing as an Access file. Might be worth a try.
