Hi Dan

I created a text file using version 1.9.62 and it has a *.oot file extension.
I now downloaded the most recent recent version of OpenOffice (2.1) and now the
earlier files cannot be accessed. I searched for ways to ammend this on the web
pages but got nowhere.
  I appreciate your help.
  Thanks,
  C

Is this file an *.oot or is it an *.ott file?
Since you mentioned 1.9.m65, is this the version you are using?
That was an Alpha version for OOo 2.0. It was never designed for
normal everyday use. I would recommend you get version 2.1 from
www.download.openoffice.org/2.1/.
If the file is in fact *.ott, it is a text template. It is not a
regular text file, but it is only an outline of what you want your
text documents to look like. You do not convert *.ott files to *.odt.
So, could you be a little more specific as to why you want to
convert you *.oot to *.odt?

Dan
