When you look at the page you were given the address
(http://documentation.openoffice.org/manuals/), you can see a line
"OpenOffice.org2.x User Guide", and on the right side, there is a link
with the indication "PDF". If you click on this link, you will have the
manual (of course, as it is rather big, you will have to wait a minute
or two if you have an old computer).

I just downloaded Open Office last night. I was told [by a computer
programmer, the one who told me about Open Office] that I could download the User
Manual [in pdf form] from this site:
He wrote, "The user manual can be found
here:_http://documentation.openoffice.org/manuals/_ (http://documentation.openoffice.org/manuals/)
Downloadable in PDF format, it's about 7 meg in size."
However, when I followed this link, I cannot find any mention of the User
Manual. Can you please point me in the right direction, or send me a link to
the proper page to DL this manual?
When you follow the link, you should see a table. The first item is the
OpenOffice 2.x User Guide, with a PDF link at the right end. This link
below, is a cut 'n paste of that site, from my browser.
