The formula is in cell L7, and down the page. There are no quotes arround the E. This same formula has worked fine for the last 13 years, going back to Quattro Pro/DOS days. I believe the issue is the format of the cell holding the E.
Just replicated and formula works as it should for me. The cell that is holding the "E" (no quotes) is formatted as 'number' > 'general'. Are you using the latest version of OOo?
