I'm not sure if this is a common problem, but I downloaded OpenOffice 2.1 and
went through the installation wizard. It said it was installed. I clicked
Finish and rebooted. I couldn't find any OpenOffice link in the programs menu
or on the desktop. This is a brand new HP 9207. I'm sure it meets the system
requirements. I haven't changed the computer so it shouldn't run into any
problems.

Have you tried searching for the executables within the directory that
you installed OOo??

Could it be that for some reason only known to Vista it decided not to
install shortcuts?

Vista is "dramatically more secure than any other operating system
released" Bill Gates
Huh ?? Defender doesn't stop spyware (Webroot) ; firewall is only 50%
effective (Zdnet) ; UAC can be turned off and is annoying ; SP1 (incl
security reasons) due end of 2007...
