The "ODT" in the file name indicates you didn't save it as a "DOC" file, which Word requires. When you use "Save as", make sure you select the correct file type. You can also try using File > Send > Email as Microsoft Word. Also, if most of your documents are in Word format, you can set that as your default file type.
