Could you explain why you think that a table is better than frames? If
it's only the selection thing I don't see a difference here as a "select
all" works in both cases (though you have to press it twice for the
frames).

Certainly. The first thing to come to mind is the ability to vertically centre the text in a table cell - highly desirable in label usage.

This is indeed an important drawback of the use of frames.
It forces me to do some improvisation, that I don't like to ask from most of my students.
Vertical alignment inside frames would be great.
(Might be possible to share code with vertical page-alignment ;-) )

Secondly, I find it far easier (and natural) to knock up a table for any unique label stock: symmetric cells are, after all, tabular in nature. Creating and positioning frames is, to my way of thinking, a very long way around the houses to reach a simple solution.

OK, but OTOH, changing one label (frame) and just hitting 'Synchronize labels' to make all the same (see my other post), is very convenient.
Also: no stability probs with all the frames on one page.

Another advantage of the current label-pages, is that one page will do for 1 to n addresses (sets of data). With the currently available table-label-documents, you have to adapt the document for the number of address. But I assume that the 'single page serves all number' can be achieved for table-label-documents as well.
