I am operating on windows XP and I am having problems downloading Open Office.My internet 
connection is not the problem however  when I click on the "continue to 
download" I recieve the message IE cannot display this page.
I also tried Firefox without any luck


Could be the mirror that is auto-selected for you.  Try these instructions :

If the download doesn't work for you, please manually select a mirror
(from this list : http://distribution.openoffice.org/mirrors/#mirrors)
close to you. You'll find the OpenOffice.org downloads in a
subdirectory stable/2.2.0/

Huh ??  Defender doesn't stop spyware (Webroot) ; firewall is only 50%
effective (Zdnet) ; UAC can be turned off and is annoying ; SP1 (incl
