Dear Sir /Madam
I am a student, and have already got microsoft windows on my computer. You say
your product is compatable on windows,I run windows xp and would like to know
more about your product from some one in the know. The reason I ask, is
because I have ADD which often makes assimilating information from written
pages difficult and as of the moment my computor, belongs to ILEA until June of
this year and I am looking to use the best system on my computor when I hope it
is mine. I dislike the fact that microsoft has such a strong hold on the
market but as such is probably the only user friendly system on the market.

I have heard of linnex but have been told by several comp buffs it is difficult
to use, and compatable parts are difficult to find. I do understand your
programe is not a replacement for microsoft xp, though breaking the hold on
microsoft office appeals to my sense of fairness.

I"d not put alot of weight on your 'computer buffs' if that is the
information you are receiving. Linux has come along way. There are
some distributions of linux that are not hard to use, can run from
just the CD player, have all the applications that you could need and
play well with those applications. There can be some hardware issues,
but these are diminishing every day. You'd have to do alot more
reading if you wanted to go down this track.

If you do want to try, I would suggest Ubuntu (www.ubuntu.com) first
off... I'm sure there are others on the list that will suggest there
favorite flavour.

Sorry to have been so long winded but some times things can not be told in a
moment. so could it be possible for some kind person to explain this programe
and help me understand its installation.

You can download OOo from www.openoffice.org ... Simply double
clicking the file, once downloaded, will start the installation
process (it'll work just fine on XP). Follow the instructions on
screen and once finished you should be good to go.

There is alot of documentation from document.openoffice.org - which is
always worth a read for a new user.

/paul

Huh ?? Defender doesn't stop spyware (Webroot) ; firewall is only 50%
effective (Zdnet) ; UAC can be turned off and is annoying ; SP1 (incl
security reasons) due end of 2007...
