You appear to be running some flavor of Linux. Are you using the OOo
"official" or distro modified edition ? I ask this because I had the
same problem with both editions under SuSE 10.1 and was never able to
resolve it until I moved to SuSE 10.2 and installed the "official" edition.

I not sure this will help you, but it may give you (or someone else
here) a pointer to identify the source of the problem.
