You may wish to consider setting up a "dummy" email account to collect unwanted replies. Or perhaps even set up killfiles. Believe me, I'm far from the only one who posts replies/cc original poster on mailing lists and newsgroup feeds. It's generally considered to be a good, desirable, correct and proper thing to do. > Sending an additional email reply to the poster rather than just to the > newsgroup is definitely bad netiquette. You're absolutely wrong. I don't see how I can make this more clear. (And frankly explaining this to you over and over is now getting a bit tiresome. I have a great deal of patience with new users and the like, or at least I try to, but there comes a point....) Incidentally, this is a mailing list. A newsgroup is a different animal. This mailing list can be and may currently be imported to various newsgroups, but it's not a newsgroup. (Might as well get the terminology right while we're at it, I suppose.) > If you can't follow proper > netiquette please refrain from posting. If you really feel that strongly about it, I do recommend that you look into the use of killfiles or even just simple inbox filtering. A quick example off of the top of my head would be: if TO="[email protected]" and CC="[EMAIL PROTECTED]" then MOVE-TO "Trash". That would automatically trash any replies sent to both "[email protected]" and "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" as you apparently read them elsewhere anyway. Or, if you just don't like me for any reason, just do this: if FROM="[EMAIL PROTECTED]" then MOVE-TO "Trash" Filters of this sort can become quite a bit more complex and flexible than these small examples, but it should be sufficient to give you a starting point. > REPLY TO LIST ONLY Guess what! I deleted your address from the CC field on this email. Just this once, and just for you. It's not the normal or proper way to provide a response to a post, though, so you will likely get further replies in your inbox in the future. -- MELVILLE THEATRE ~ Melville Sask ~ http://www.melvilletheatre.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
