As far as I know there is no problem saving a document as .doc, you only have
to use File->SaveAs and it saves the .doc document.
The only problem I had was opening .doc created with Word, specially if you use
templates because then the formatting is gone, although the content is still
there.

I do not understand you question about using OpenOffice at school. What do you
exactly mean?

Cheers,

Marian.

Subject: [users] question about saving

I have a question regarding your product. One of my students asked me about
your product. This was the first I had heard about it. She is using the word
processor. Are you able to save as a .doc file so she can open the file in
WORD? Whatever form she used last night at home would not open. What should I
tell her to do to be able to use Office at school? Thank you Ann Tribendis
