Hopefully, I'm making this request right. First off, some background for myself: I have been working in technology support for about ten years, so trust I have already taken certain precautions.
A couple months ago, I tried OO 2.2 and had little luck. I followed the installation process to the letter that time, as I did this past week for 2.3. In addition, I returned my video card to the most basic settings (per readme.txt), and also disabled my antivirus protection, and attempted the "repair" module from the installer. I also attempted to install JRE directly from Java.com, and attempted to download the OO installer without JRE. When I attempt to open any of the OO applications, I receive a small message box with no text, and just an "Ok" button (attached). Searching your forums, I don't see a way to sort by most recent messages, and you can imagine how many results appear when you search for the only possible phrases..."ok". My wife has the same brand laptop (Toshiba) as I. Hers is an A205, mine an A215, both with Vista Home Premium, and she was able to load OO 2.3 just fine. Ideas?
