  you r talking about which linux flvour?
  in gnome we can install our OT fonts & all system font we can access from
openoffce
i have done this, some time its happens that, openoffice  dont show fonts we
installed in that case
we should install fonts in /usr/share/fonts/openoffice folder

  Same thing with debian & other
