Hi henri,
go to user/share/fonts  & see in which folder your font is there(truetype or
else)
in that folder see is there exist files   .dir,   fonts.scale,  *cache
if these fiels are there
**follow instuctions
1) exit the openoffice
2) from terminal go to usr/share/fonts/"that folders" & run following
command
3)   mkfontdir
      fc-cache

now start openoffice & check is your font is htere or not
normally it works
