OpenOffice, by default, saves files in ISO standard formats, which
Microsoft refuses to support.  You'll either have to save to MS file
formats or convince your friends to install OpenOffice.  Also, the Draw
application has no counterpart in MS Office, so OpenOffice or StarOffice
will have to be used to open those files.  Another possibility, if your
friends will not be making changes, is to export as PDF.
