I have just read all your comments. I purchased this software actually at Wal-Mart for 19.99 - thought it was a good deal considering the price of Microsoft Office 2007. I believe Tom is correct - that it is a 2.3 version of your program. My computer crashed about 2 weeks ago and had done so before back in August. So, I thought I would just go buy a new one - new one has Microsoft Vista as operating system. My previous one had Microsoft XP. I haven't really downloaded any other programs to this new one except for this "Office Suite 2007" and another one "Print Workshop". Yesterday, I did an word doc and when I went to save it, it came back with a message of the format - "The document may contain formatting or content that cannot be saved in Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP format. Do you ant to save in this format anyway? - Click yes to save in this format; - click no to use the latest OpenDoc file format and be sure all formatting and content is saved correctly." I also noticed since loading/installing this software that all my Microsoft documents have different icons - the new icons have like "bird" things in the left corners. Does this make any more sense to you? Debi Gallagher, e-PRO, CNRS International Sterling Society COLDWELL BANKER REAL ESTATE, INC. Is that referring to software I just installed or the update I am trying to get? Thanks for your help. Debi Gallagher This is the volunteer support group for OpenOffice.org's *free* product OpenOffice. The latest version is 2.3. There is no such thing as a "2007" version. "Office Suite 2007" sounds like a Microsoft product, in which case please complain to Microsoft. On the other hand, the problem you explain seems to be yet another instance the well known "Microsoft Installer" problem which has nothing to do with OpenOffice but which this group sees frequently. A possible solution is at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301 If you are actually trying to install OpenOffice and if the above solution does not help, come back here with details of: which version of Windows you are using and which version of OpenOffice you are trying to install. There are no "updates" to OpenOffice; for technical reasons each "update" is issued as a complete new version which must be downloaded in its entirety. You can get the latest at www.openoffice.org <http://www.openoffice.org/> - press the big green "Get OpenOffice" button and then the choose the correct version for your operating system. Harold: Here is the eBay link for "Office Suite 2007" and other assorted software. It even looks like you can pay for Microsoft's viewers. Buyer Beware! http://stores.ebay.com/eLinuxware-Software-CD-Downloads TomW Tom, Thank you but what is it? And what has it to do with OpenOffice? If I Google "Office Suite 2007" (in quotes) I get details of a *Microsoft* product. What am I missing, please? Harold: It is OO 2.3 repackaged as Office Suite 2007. I had to hunt to find it, as most of the results were for MS Office 2007. Google had a link on the fourth page of a search. TomW
