I have just read all your comments. I purchased this software actually at Wal-Mart for 19.99 - thought it was a good deal considering the price of Microsoft Office 2007. I believe Tom is correct - that it is a 2.3 version of your program. My computer crashed about 2 weeks ago and had done so before back in August. So, I thought I would just go buy a new one - new one has Microsoft Vista as operating system. My previous one had Microsoft XP. I haven't really downloaded any other programs to this new one except for this "Office Suite 2007" and another one "Print Workshop". Yesterday, I did an word doc and when I went to save it, it came back with a message of the format - "The document may contain formatting or content that cannot be saved in Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP format. Do you ant to save in this format anyway? - Click yes to save in this format; - click no to use the latest OpenDoc file format and be sure all formatting and content is saved correctly." I also noticed since loading/installing this software that all my Microsoft documents have different icons - the new icons have like "bird" things in the left corners. Does this make any more sense to you? You get that warning about formatting because Word is not the native format for OpenOffice. You can turn that message off, if you like. As for the icons, they depend on the file associations. If you've got OpenOffice set as the default application for Microsoft Office files, then the OpenOffice icons will show. If set for Microsoft Office, then the appropriate Microsoft Office icons will be used. |
