When you save the files, do you use Save as and then select Word
format?  Or do you just change the file extention to .doc?  If the
latter, the recipients won't be able to open the file.  Also make sure
automatic file extentention is enabled.  Another option, is to send a
PDF file, if the recipients don't have to edit the file.
