First, please do not use ALL UPPER CASE. It's considered to be rude because it's SHOUTING at people. Second, this is a public e-mail list. As such what you say is stored on thousands of computers, archived in many places and generally available to millions of people. You may therefore decide not to include personal details such as postal addresses, phone numbers and so on. No, there is no way to retract/"unpublish" what you have already said. Now to your problem. I assume you are using Windows. When you install OpenOffice it asks you if you want to make it the default software for handling documents, spreadsheets and presentations. Just say "yes". Job done.
