If I understand what you want to do, you could just go back to each item > as it's completed and change the bullet style. Start at "Format" on the > menu bar, click "Bullets and Numbering" and select a different bullet > style. It seems like it could be a little tedious, though. I feel a bit poorly that your response is tagged with "Troll/Idiot" since you've been kind enough to respond however since that is the label it arrived with... I believe I have tried what you're suggesting. I've created a list with all one bullet style, the "open" style. Then when a task is completed: - I return to the list - put the cursor on the line that I wish to change - select the check mark bullet style That procedure results in all bullets changing to the new style. In addition to placing the cursor on the line that should change I have tried selecting the whole line, selecting the individual bullet (haven't been able to do that) and using the "Options" tab, "Character" button in the "Bullets and Numbering" dialog box to change the character selected for the bullet. It changes all bullets to the new character. One thing I've noted is that when using numbering it is possible to use the "Restart numbering" property to start the numbers over but it won't work (or I haven't found how to make it work) to change bullet styles in the middle of a bullet list.
