Hi,
I have studied the two sites suggested to me and I would like to clarify
some issues. E.g when creating a template for the whole book starting with
the title, preface, TOC etc do I have to open a new page by inserting a
page break or there is some other way?
Another thing is that inserting breaks is suggested as being done before the
page. Is there a reason for this; wouldn't it be better after?
Tks

Hi,
Can anyone suggest a really good advanced how-to to create a master doc in
writer for a long book? The ones on line are really too skimpy and do not
offer a good explanation on how to go about it.
You might try this:
http://documentation.openoffice.org/manuals/oooauthors2/0213WG-WorkingWithMasterDocuments.pdf
While it's not specific to master documents, there's some useful information
to help set up proper page styles for the front matter at docsymmetry.com
<http://www.docsymmetry.com/layout.html>
If the info at the link James Knott suggested doesn't do it, post back with
specific questions.
Good luck.
