Hi Joe,
Of the five replies, yours is by far the quickest and most elegant solution. I
could have used this a few times in the past. I had to try to reverse the
process by entering '& in the replace box. This will turn numbers into strings.

A Find & Replace triggers a re-interpretation of the values, so
Search for: .*
Replace with: &
Options / Regular expressions: YES
Will also convert all the numeric strings to the actual numeric values.
