OOo will have a docx (and xlsx, pptx) import filter in OOo3.0 Beta in
April 2008. We (mainly Sun developers, here and there with some help
from some Novell developers) are still working on it and will continue
to do so. I assume that what we will have in our Beta will be quite useful.

I wouldn't waste my time with the current stopgag solutions.
