While that should definitely work, you may want to consider getting a USB
flash drive. After using it to move OpenOffice to your other computer,
you can then use it to run the portable version of OpenOffice, available
from www.portableapps.com. You'll need one that's at least 256 MB.
I bought a removable 1 gig card with a usb connector for under $25. Getting
a integrated one can be more or less that that. I have seen 1 gig
for as less as $15 and as much as $40. Also you can get them less
if all you need is 512mb. But the 8 gig are nice but expensive. I prefer
the usb adapters that you can replace the 1 gig (or 512 mb) card with
a larger one as the costs go down. My newest one can use 3 different
replacement cards.
I have not tried the portable version of OOo, but that may be something
that I should get and place it on one of my cards. This way I can show
those who do not have the software some of the things I like about
OOo. We shall see.
