Actually, the one thing to do in such cases is not a subject change.
It is to start a new thread, that is "compose" instead of "reply with
a changed subject".
I'd rather not discussing all other netiquette violations in this one
thread, however. The original problem is a practice from both the
moderators and some contributors, including some of the most active
ones, which makes the list and its archives much less useful to the
community. And it's interesting to see that none of these people has
stepped into this thread yet, but HAS sent another lot of subjectless
replies today...
