normal, or did I do something wrong?
It sounds like the problem resides in your having to use a M$ format
to send the file to someone who isn't a OO user. Since pdf is a
universally accepted format and the problem doesn't present itself
when saving to it, why not stick with it whenever you need to share
a file? or does the person you're sending the file to have to edit
it?
That's (IMO) akin to telling somene to just send a printed copy, or fax
instead. It's quite likely that the other party may want to modify the
table, add text, etc., etc. As mentioned in my previous post, the copy
paste and paste special features _do_ work. Now we just need to figure
out why they don't work in Bob's case.
In another part of the thread, we're exploring the idea that the
shortcut keys he used (involving the Insert key, not the standard
Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V, Ctrl-Shift-V) made the clipboard work strangely. I'm on
the same versions of Windows and OOo as Bob, and I found that normal
pastes and some of the paste-specials vanished when I saved-as RTF and
opened the file in Wordpad (don't have Word). What seemed to work best
for me was a paste-special unformatted, then conversion to a true table
by Table>Convert>Text to table.
