That is exactly what I did. I selected the cells, and used the

Hmmm. These are not the shortcut keys I use (Ctrl-C to copy, Ctrl-V
to paste -- and I usually use the Edit menu to Paste Special,
Ctrl-Shift-V should work, too). I'm wondering if the way it goes into
the clipboard is somehow different under Ctrl-Insert than Ctrl-C,
especially since you say in another post that you don't get an option
to Paste Special except as a bitmap. It sounds as if all the
clipboard thinks it has is a picture, and that won't help at all. How
about giving it a try with the Edit menu or these shortcuts?
This time I used the Edit/Copy and Edit/Paste commands to copy and
paste the table and then saved the file in Word 97/2000/XP format.
Same result; the table was gone.
Did Paste Special give you the option I recommended before, to get it as
unformatted text and convert it to a table? (The RTF and HTML pastes
look like tables, but don't completely act that way.)
