You can if you wish. Alternatively there are 'viewers' out there that will let you view a OOo document without installing OpenOffice (eg, http://www.officeviewers.com/). You can also ask your friend to send you the document in Word format (eg, .doc) . > > > > I heard that if I do download your program that I will get a TON of > pop-ups, > is that true? > > No - not true. There are, of course, some 'popups' (I assume that you mean dialog boxs as opposed to the internet based popups) that happen to ask you questions when you install OpenOffice and when something goes wrong, but generally there is no more than any other program (including MS Office). > > > Will it change all of my Word docs to .odt documents? > No it will not change anything concerning word documents. You can, when you install it, decide to have Open Office open your word documents (if you select this then the icon representing your word documents change, but nothing else), but you can also leave that along and let MS Office open what it normally does. > > > Thanks > > > > Susan Clark > > Please reply to the list if you have any other queries. /paul -- For those that love Pandora, but don't live in the USA : http://globalpandora.com/
