Good point; I think you CAN create a PDF with 2007.  Just not earlier 
versions.  But it clarifies a revision of Word the OP is trying to open 
and says he can't.  He should be able to open Word's .DOC files just 
fine.  I -think- the DOCX format means XML, too.
