Jim, I have to right-click the Quick Unicode Utility icon and select «Run as
adminstrator» everytime I reboot into Vista in order for the programme to
function, but I don't need to go through any installation process. By the
way, in your original instructions, you indicated that a dot «.» must be
pressed on the Num Pad before entering the hexadecimal code of the glyph to
be entered, but on my Num Pad the key in question (the second in the bottom
row) is marked as a comma «,». I don't know if this is a peculiarity of my
Norwegian 105-key (Logitech) board, or whether this is the case for you as
well....

What Quick Unicode Utility Icon? The original download produced a desktop Icon with the label “quick100.exe”. Right-clicking that and selecting “Run as administrator” installed the program, creating another desktop icon named “Quick Unicode Input”, and a shortcut icon in the Startup folder in the Start menu which should start the program every time I reboot, which it does, producing a third icon in the System Tray.

I will check when I get home, but obviously what is not working is the program startup run automatically from the shortcut icon in the Startup folder. Either I must run the program again, by clicking the Desktop “Quick Unicode Input” icon or reinstall again using the “Quick100.exe" icon. I will see what works tonight on my system.
