I tried to use the latest version of OpenOffice. It installs fine and runs  
fine but when I tried to open Windows Media Player, that program wouldn't  
open. A retore system solved the problem. I re-installed OpenOffice with  
the same result and once again a Restore System solved the problem so it  
is plainly OpenOffice that is causing some sort of conflict.

        I am using Windows Vista Premium 64 bit
